We've always loved the style of Jerry Hall, the tall Texas-born blond who is certainly most famous for being married to Mick Jagger (the 1990 marriage was annulled in 1999). Hall was back in the limelight earlier this week, with a London auction of several vintage items. Most notable: the still stunning white lace wedding dress, cocktail length, done by designer Antony Price for her marriage to Jagger. Even with stains, and other issues, the dress sold for more than 2200 pounds—or close to $5000 (Hall is donating proceeds to benefit the homeless). A "chicken" dress, a wild concoction also by Price done in bold yellow and green feathers, many of them forming a "tail," drew 22 bids before finally going for 420 pounds. Whoever bought this knows how to have fun!
For more vintage news from the UK, you can tune into this BBC Radio report, which was recorded shortly before the auction.
Happy listening, and we hope your summer is full of fresh vintage adventures, glamorous, outrageous or otherwise.
